Members of Our Lady of the Sioux Catholic Church in Oglala, SD are particularly thankful this Thanksgiving season. Parishioners from St. Johns’s Catholic Church at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska have collected items throughout the year to provide a Thanksgiving Basket to the parishioners of Our Lady of the Sioux.

The parishioners filled homemade duffel bags with a feast of ham, mashed potatoes, stuffing, fruit, vegetables, cranberries, and cake. The group from St. John’s comes every year to join the people from Our Lady of the Sioux for Mass before hosting a magnificent, shared breakfast feast. In addition to the food, the group distributed gently used items that they collect throughout the year to the Sacred Heart Church food pantry and rummage room in Pine Ridge, SD.
