Kindergarten class looks ahead to first grade

posted on May 18, 2012

On Thursday, May 17, nineteen kindergartners stood in front of family and friends in Holy Rosary Church, ready to move on to the next step.

The ceremony began with a welcome by elementary principal Jennifer Sierra, and an opening prayer by Mackert assistant principal Ann-Marie Amiotte.

The students performed two songs for the audience: “Five Dinosaurs” and “Counting Coins Rap”. They then sat and enjoyed a video slide show that had been prepared for them, showing them at work and at play over the course of the year.

After the students received their certificates, they were sung an honoring song by the drum group, and then they lined up in the church foyer to receive hugs and handshakes from friends and well-wishers.
