Parishioner George Looks Twice Of Our Lady of the Sioux Church in Oglala, South Dakota received the Republic of Korea War Service Medal on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Senator John Thune’s Office in Rapid City, South Dakota.

George has been an active parishioner and lay minister at Our Lady of the Sioux for many years. He has served as Eucharistic minister, led rosaries, and helped with the day to day running of the parish. According to parish council member Scott Cuny, “I don’t know what we’d do without George. He does so much for our parish. He’s such a nice guy and he has done so many interesting things in his life. You know he was even in the movie (titled) Tomahawk when he was a kid.”

George had this to say about receiving the medal, “It’s pretty neat, people I don’t even know have been coming up to shake my hand.”
