Our Lady of Lourdes Elementary to host parents and families at awards breakfast for students

Students at Our Lady of Lourdes Elementary School in Porcupine will celebrate their accomplishments at an annual awards breakfast and assembly on Friday, March 25. The event honors students in kindergarten through eighth grade for their commitment to learning. Parents and family members are encouraged to attend.

“It’s a wonderful event that happens every year. We invite our parents for breakfast with the students, and celebrate the achievements of their children from the third quarter,” says Theresa Lessert, principal.

Awards will be given to students who have excelled in certain academic subjects, who have outstanding attendance and who have helped out around the school. Awards will also be given to students who have shown the most improvement during the third quarter.

“It’s just a great way to get everyone together to recognize each one of our students for all their hard work and effort,” adds Ron Kills Warrior, counselor. “We always have an outstanding amount of parent involvement in everything we do, so it’s really great to be able to share a meal with them too.”

Breakfast will begin at 7:30 a.m. in the cafeteria with the awards ceremony beginning shortly after. For more information, call Our Lady of Lourdes at 605/867-2801.
