Library

The Nolan Family Library and Media Center, housed on the first floor of Red Cloud High School, was renovated in 2011 to offer high school students a 21st century learning environment with state-of-the-art equipment. The 4600 square foot facility gives students an array of books and technology at their fingertips. In addition to being a traditional research and study space, the library offers a central location for after-school enrichment activities and technology-based research and learning.

  • An innovative and mobile computer lab with wireless Internet access allows students to checkout new wireless Mac laptops and iPads, helping to bridge a technological divide.
  • New workstations offer full integration with the mobile laptop checkout system, shifting the library from the limitations of its historical use to a true media-learning center. Workstations provide quiet places for study groups.

With no public library on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, the library at Red Cloud High School is an integral location for providing our students with a lifeline to the world.

The library is open daily during school hours, with special hours after-school. Please stop into the library and speak with the librarian about using equipment or scheduling study space after-school.
