A Message to Red Cloud Supporters Regarding Blackbaud's Data Breach

August 14, 2020

Red Cloud Campus

Blackbaud, a donor engagement and fundraising software service provider, recently experienced a data breach. Red Cloud uses Blackbaud-hosted services for our donor database management and is among many organizations that have been affected.

Red Cloud takes the protection and use of our supporters' personal information very seriously.

Please be assured that no bank account information, credit card information, or social security numbers were accessed by the cybercriminals. We have been advised that some of the information that was accessed may have contained contact information, including email and mailing addresses, phone numbers, and giving history with Red Cloud. Additional information regarding the incident is available from Blackbaud, including a summary of Blackbaud's enhanced cyber security program.

Based on the information provided to us by Blackbaud, and the result of its third party investigation, we have no reason to believe that any data went beyond the person who accessed the information, was or will be misused, or will be disseminated or otherwise made available publicly.

We regret and apologize that this incident occurred with our provider. Blackbaud has assured us that it has already implemented several changes that will protect data from any subsequent incidents. We will continue working closely with Blackbaud to monitor this situation. Should you have any further questions or concerns about this, please do not hesitate to contact Red Cloud directly by emailing makeadifference@redcloudschool.org or calling 605-867-1105.
