PROGRAM

Red Cloud Volunteers commit to working in grades K-12 at one of the three Red Cloud Schools on the reservation. Volunteers serve as classroom teachers, teacher’s aides, librarians, and other support staff in the schools, and also help drive the busses that transport Red Cloud students to and from school each day. The volunteer program extends well beyond the boundaries of school and classroom.

Aside from teaching in a new and often challenging environment, volunteers live in intentional community at one of three houses on the campuses of the Red Cloud School. Volunteers receive room and board and only a modest stipend while serving. Throughout the volunteer year, retreats and various community events help foster a sense of community and challenge the volunteers to live by the four values of the Red Cloud Program. Volunteers need to be ready to be challenged into new ways of thinking, learning, and approaching the world around them. Volunteers serve in many positions throughout the Red Cloud School system.

We have a Downloadable Volunteer Application for you to review and complete if you are interested in applying to the Red Cloud Volunteer Program.
