The Heritage Center Tours

Guided group tours highlight objects from the permanent collection, as well as temporary and special exhibitions. Tours are designed for a variety of ages. Guided Tours are free of charge. For specific topics to be highlighted during your group tour please contact The Heritage Center at (605) 867-5491 x2247 or email audreyjacobs@redcloudschool.org 

Due to limited space within the gallery the maximum size of a guided tour is 20 people. If your group size exceeds 20 people, the group may be split into two and will alternate with the Museum Educator in the gallery space.


Self-Guided Tours:
Self-guided tours are permitted in the gallery. No reservations necessary. If you would like educational material to assist with your visit please contact the Museum Educator before your visit.

Tour Reservation Policy:

Guided Tours must be reserved at least one week before the visit. Groups arriving without a reservation are not guaranteed a guided tour.

Special Needs:

Help us create an inclusive program. Please inform us in advance of any students with cognitive, emotional or physical disabilities in your group. We will do our best to adapt the program to best meet everyone's needs.

Cancellations:

Please be courteous. All tour cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Please contact the Museum Educator, for all cancellations.

Parking:

Complimentary vehicle parking is available directly in front of The Heritage Center. However, from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm vehicle parking is located at the Paul “Dizzy” Trout Field House parking lot, next to the Red Cloud High School building. Guests parked in front of The Heritage Center after 1:00 will become blocked in due to Red Cloud Indian School buses.

Traveling By Bus:

Complimentary bus parking is available directly in front of The Heritage Center. Bus parking after 1:00 pm is located at the Paul “Dizzy” Trout Field House parking lot, next to the Red Cloud High School building.

The Heritage Center Manners:

In order for everyone to have a wonderful experience at The Heritage Center, we would like to remind you of The Heritage Centers’ manners:

    • Photography is not permitted inside the gallery.
    • Do not touch the works of art.
    • Food, drink, & gum are not permitted in the gallery.
    • No running or pushing.
    • Please be sure that all group members stay with the group.
    • Cell phones set on silent or turned off during the tour.
    • Please avoid side conversations, including cell phone conversations, which may be disruptive to the groups’ enjoyment and learning experience.
