Originally named Our Lady of Lourdes, St. Anthony's was founded under that title in 1905 by Fr. Westropp, SJ. Early catechists were Joseph Horn Cloud and John Fool Head. By 1920 a larger chapel was needed. Fr. Gall, SJ, built it and renamed the small parish St. Anthony's. After a powerful tornado destroyed the church in 1939, the third, and present day, church was completed in 1940. |
