About the Principal

Jennifer Sierra has taught elementary students for 12 years before coming to Red Cloud. This is her 5th year as the principal of Red Cloud Elementary. Jennifer currently lives in Wakpamni (near Batesland), but originally is from Porcupine. She attended several elementary schools (wherever here father was teaching), completing the 8th grade at Our Lady of Lourdes in Porcupine. She graduated from Red Cloud High School in 1987. Jennifer earned a BS in Elementary Education from Dakota State University in Madison, S.D. in 1992 and her MA In Education Administration from Oglala Community College in 2004. Her husband, Melvin, is the Principal of the Shannon County Virtual High School. They have three daughters(Amber, Payton, and Paisley), two sons( Montana and Colton), and one grandson (Alexander).
