Student Activities

We believe that a great education doesn't it just happen in the classroom... it also happens beyond the confines of a school room's doors. At Our Lady of Lourdes Elementary, School, we take pride in offering our students, and oftentimes their families, with a number of programs before and afterschool, on the weekends and even throughout the summer to continue their learning. Here, our students are engaged in a number of clubs and organizations, athletic programs and after school programs

Putting others first

For nearly 10 years, OLL students have been part of Pennies for Patients Campaign, which has raised more than $1000 each year for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Our Lady of Lourdes has been honored three times with commemorative plaques for collecting the second highest amount of pennies in the entire state of South Dakota. They've also worked hard to raise funds for St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

Summer break? Not a chance!

"Supplemental programming over the summer and during the school year is not taken lightly at Red Cloud—it is an important component of the unparalleled education students on the Pine Ridge Reservation receive. For many, it keeps, as we say, hope alive,” says T.J. Lynch, director of Red Cloud's summer and after school programming. Red Cloud offers a number of extended learning opportunities for students, from one-on-one tutoring in math, reading and science, to athletic clinics that do more than just give them someplace to run around—it gives them a place to embrace a healthy lifestyle.
