Valedictorian Speech by Jacob Cousin

posted May 26, 2016

Jacob Cousin '16 will continue his education at Brown Univeristy, studying theatre and dance. He spent last summer at Brown to participate in their prestigious TheatreBridge program. As a Gates Millenium Scholar, the world is at his feet.

Stooding before a crowd of friends, family, teachers and classmates, Jacob speakes with confidences as he address his community...

Welcome family, friends, and staff. It's great to have you all here as we come to an end of our high school experience.

First let me start off by thanking my mother. I’d like that thank you for helping me and pushing me to my greatest potential everyday, because I do not think any one else could have lasted these past 18 years with me.

I would just like to say that there are many staff that i’d like to thank, but I would just like to keep it short.

My class is one mouthy, headstrong group of people. Everyday we’ve walked these halls together, but that doesn’t mean that every day we all got along. We all know the cliche “we’ve become like a family”, but if being a family means we’ve all had days when we wanted to strangle each other, than yes, we have become one close-dysfunctional family. But if I had to choose, I’m truly thankful that it was with all of you.

So class of 2016, “Have some fire. Be Unstoppable. Be a force of Nature.”
