Red Cloud Senior Prepares to Play Basketball at Chadron State College

Senior Christi Sioux Bob ‘14 has been playing basketball at Red Cloud since 2010. She took to the court naturally and, despite the heavy workload that comes with her high school coursework, Christi was able to manage her schedule to allow for extra practices along with ample time to study.

This week Christi joined with her mother and her coach Amanda Carlow in Red Cloud’s Cuny Commons to sign her ‘intent to play’ college basketball at Chadron State College next year.

“I’ve always wanted to play college ball. It’s all I’ve ever really wanted to do,” says Christi. “So, getting the call from Chadron was really a dream come true.”

After years of hard work both on the court and in the classroom, Christi says she’s looking forward to the next step in her academic and athletic life.

“I’m excited for the intensity of the college level. It will be a new test for me—for my stamina and my game. I’ve been training for a long time and making time for extra practices at the gym. It’s encouraging to know that it’s paid off and that I have this next step lined up.”

“I want to thank my mother and my coaches Amanda Carlow and Matt Rama for encouraging me. This is going to be a great new chapter in my life.”
