The Heritage Center Gift Shop plays an important role in the local economy as it annually purchases and re-sells over $100,000 worth of locally made Lakota tribal arts and fine arts, both contemporary and traditional. This represents a definitive market niche for the Gift Shop. Handmade Lakota items are greatly sought after. The Gift Shop has established local, national and international markets, often, demand exceeds supply. Marketing and development of the Gift Shop is a central focus for the Heritage Center, as stated above the local economy is impacted by its successful marketing ventures. The local cottage industry is a dynamic force moving the Gift Shop to continue to expand market venues.

The Gift Shop offers an extensive collection of porcupine quill work, beadwork and a variety of Plains traditional art for sale. It is one of kind art. Browse our extensive collection of jewelry, pottery, glassware, traditional decorative boxes & frames, star quilts, buffalo hides, housewares and exclusive note cards.

The Gift Shop offers a variety books & music devoted to the history, culture and art of the Plains Indians. Music by local and national Native American artists are available on tapes and CD's. We also offer many unique and exciting works especially for children. Lakota dictionaries, language cards and instructional tapes are also available.

Art works of regional and nationally acclaimed artists are on display in our gift shop, as well as throughout the gallery. The Heritage Center prides itself in carrying the finest art of the Great Plains.
