All pieces in the annual art show are for sale, providing an excellent market for Native American artists and a unique opportunity for visitors to acquire Native American artwork. We invite you to come and experience the culture and history of the Lakota.
The Art Show has been an annual event since 1968. The Art Show runs for ten weeks and attracts over ten thousand visitors, including a significant number of international visitors. Over the years the Art Show has helped a large number of Native American artists from many different tribes launch their artisitic career. The Art Show has introduced Red Cloud Indian School to thousands and thousands of people who would otherwise never have visited Red Cloud - or the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.
Aside the art show, the permanent collection at The Heritage Center Museum includes almost 5,000 paintings, drawings, traditional clothing, sculptures and artifacts. A small portion of tribal arts and sculptures and carvings from the permanent collection is on display in the gallery during the Art Show. It is considered one of the finest collections of Native American art in the region and the country.
