SPIRITUALITY

Retreats
The Senior Class holds two annual overnight Retreats in the sacred Black Hills. The Fall Retreat helps senior students focus on the year ahead and their plans for the future. During the course of the overnight retreat, faculty members help the seniors take stock of their lives and the choices that lie ahead of them. The retreat experience include personal reflection, prayer, community building activities hiking, Lakota handgames, and a variety of outdoor activities.

The students return from the retreat renewed, refreshed, and looking forward to a challenging and exciting year ahead. In the Spring, the seniors hold their year-end retreat.

The Junior Class Retreat Cangleska Wakan also holds an overnight retreat later in the Black Hills, the Sophomore Class Retreat Wolakota and the Freshman Class Retreat hold a one day retreat throughout the year.

Blood Drive
The Peace, Justice, & Service Class at Red Cloud High coordinates two blood drives each year. These drives, usually held in October and March, collect blood to be used at hospitals in Pine Ridge and the surrounding area.

Healthy Choices Week
Healthy Life Choices Week presenters spoke during Spiritual Formation classes at the beginning of the week. The rest of the week was spent reflecting on the lessons learned, and helping students to integrate those lesson into their lives.
