DOWNLOAD THE 2007 ANNUAL REPORT (PDF) Dear Friends, We have such a unique opportunity to build hope, both in the classroom and in our community. The number of students I see, daily, choosing to believe in themselves, their futures and the love of their Creator is a true blessing. While the voices of darkness and discouragement are myriad around the Reservation, it is wonderful to see students and families choosing to believe in the Light. Together we are truly making the future brighter for Lakota children. Ninety-five percent of last year’s graduates planned to continue their studies this fall: they have hope, and see an achievable future. We also had seven recipients of the Gates Millennium Scholarship, giving Red Cloud the highest per capita number of Gates Scholars of all Native American schools in the nation. This is the result of your efforts, your partnership, and for this, we are indebted. Here are some other highlights and statistics from the past year: Due to the extreme poverty that surrounds many children on the Reservation, we do not charge tuition. It is only through caring hearts like yours that these wonderful accomplishments are possible. As you peruse our Annual Report, know that your faithful friendship and commitment is having a direct impact on the future of the children. Indeed, you are keeping hope alive. Thank you so much for your continued support. We depend on it. Lila wopila tanka and may the good Lord bless you. Sincerely and gratefully, Fr. Peter Klink, SJ |
