Girls Basketball Team State Bound, Pep Rally and Send-Off Announced

The 2006-2007 Lady Crusaders Basketball Team have proven that they have the will to win, and with their combination of hard work and dedication, they are making their dreams come true, heading to the state tournament for the first time since 2001. The team won the Region 8A title game last week against St. Thomas More, clinching their participation in the South Dakota State Tournament, March 8-10, in Spearfish, South Dakota.

The Lady Crusaders enter the state tournament with a 16-7 record after a year that saw many ups and downs. The turning point in the season came in late January, with a win over Chadron. The team has suffered only one loss since that game, to then-#2 ranked Pine Ridge in mid-February.

To send the team off to the state tournament, a pep rally will be held on Tuesday, March 6 at 2:30 p.m. in the Paul "Dizzy" Fieldhouse. Parents and members of the community are invited to this spirited event.
