Red Cloud High School hires new coaches for football, girls basketball seasons
posted on June 30, 2010

Red Cloud High School has selected Shawn Patton as the new head coach for the 2010/11 football season. Patton is no newcomer to the Red Cloud football program, as he was the assistant coach to Duane Big Crow last year.

"Shawn has been a part of the Red Cloud football program for the past couple of years as an assistant coach.  He knows the students and the school system,” says Athletic Director Jennifer Schaer.  “This knowledge and his desire to work with the team to make it one of the best is refreshing."

Red Cloud High School has also welcomed Jake Locust as head coach for the 2010/11 girls varsity basketball team. Locust comes from years of experience, which includes a Region 7A Championship last year at Little Wound High School as their head coach.

"Jason has had the opportunity to coach many of the girls at the junior high level and understands that he will be building a team.,” says Schaer. “His goal is to build a program and understands that this will take some time and hard work. Jason knows that he has talent and looks forward to developing this talent."
