Parish News: Annual Good Friday 4D Walk
by Shannon Grooms, Our Lady of the Sioux Church
posted on April 22, 2010

Traditionally the 4D group, composed of the four local faith groups; Lutherans, Presbyterian, Catholic, and Episcopalian Churches from Oglala, SD come together for a Good Friday Walk, Prayer Service, and meal. The walk is from Loneman School to Our Lady of the Sioux Parish.

This Good Friday, April 2, 2010 the walk had to be cancelled due to inclimate weather. However, Parishioners from the four churches did come together for prayer, fellowship, and a meal.

The group was originally started during World War II for the different faith groups to come together and pray in unison.  It has continued on through the years with a monthly meeting on the second Wednesday of every month alternating between the churches.  The meetings consist of a meal, prayer, song, and petitions.

If you are interested in learning more about the fellowship of the 4D, contact Sr. Connie Schmidt at 605-867-5673.
