Three Red Cloud High School student-athletes to sign college letters of intent on Tuesday Red Cloud High School will host a signing day for its student-athletes on Tuesday, May 26 at 3 p.m. in the Paul Dizzy Trout Memorial Fieldhouse. Seniors Marque Lunderman, Wade O’Bryan and Mike Twiss will all be signing letters of intent to the colleges of their choice to continue their athletic careers. “This is a momentous day for these young athletes, as it celebrates their dedication and commitment to their academics, their teams and their personal health and well-being,” says Jennifer Schaer, athletic director at Red Cloud Indian School. “We are so proud of each of them.” Lunderman, a starting forward on the 2008/09 Lady Crusader Basketball Team, will sign a letter of intent with Eastern Wyoming College. Known for her outstanding skills on the basketball court, she played a pivotal role on the girls’ basketball team, which qualified for the South Dakota State “A” Girls Basketball Tournament in 2007 and 2009, and won the District 15A Championship for the third consecutive year in 2009. O’Bryan will sign his letter of intent with Dickenson State University, where he will play football for the Blue Hawks. Honored four years with a letter in the sport, the football player most recently received an academic all-state award for his leadership and hard work in the classroom. Twiss, a starting forward for the 2008/09 Red Cloud Boys’ Basketball Team and a member of the 2008/09 Red Cloud Golf Team, will sign with Bismarck State, joining the Mystics on both the basketball court and golf course. He qualified for the South Dakota State Tournaments in golf in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009, and contributed to the basketball team’s fifth and seventh place finishes in the 2008 and 2009 state tournaments, respectively.
