Open enrollment now available at Our Lady of Lourdes in Porcupine Click here to find out more about Our Lady of Lourdes Our Lady of Lourdes Elementary School on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation is continuing open enrollment for the 2009-10 school year through the end of June. Teachers and staff from the school are available daily to answer questions and discuss the benefits of attending the school, which is part of the Red Cloud Indian School system. “Our mission is to maximize the potential of each child by fostering a love of learning in a challenging and balanced environment,” says Alice Phelps, principal. “At Our Lady of Lourdes, education is first. And, we provide a positive, pro-active learning atmosphere for our students.” Students wishing to enroll at Our Lady of Lourdes will be administered a test, which allows teachers to better understand how the student learns, and identify those areas to focus on throughout their educational career. Registration is open to students in kindergarten through eighth grade. “This is the first time that we’ve had an open enrollment, and hope that it helps those interested in our school to really understand the type of education we offer,” Phelps says.
