Alumni take time to say thanks
posted December 28, 2007

Alumni from Red Cloud High School have gathered to thank those who keep Red Cloud going. With the help of Angie Yellow Boy-Stinson and Sarah Yellow Boy, alumni are taking part in the 4th Annual Phone-A-Thon. The Phone-A-Thon has turned into an annual event in which recent graduates of Red Cloud take time from their Christmas vacation to call and thank some of our benefactors for their contributions.

“The purpose of the Phone-A-Thon is to give the alumni a chance to show their appreciation for the generosity of the donors and to give the donors a chance to see how their contributions impact the lives of Red Cloud students,”says Angie Yellow Boy-Stinson, director of planned giving.

This year, the participants in the Phone-A-Thon set a daily goal of 500 calls. Through their calls, alumni are able to share their current college successes and say “thank you” to donors who continuously support what the alumni have come to believe in.

“Having the opportunity to speak with friends of Red Cloud reminds me of my family,” says Marie Zephier, a 2004 graduate of Red Cloud. “It is wonderful to visit with them and to hear stories about how they became involved with Red Cloud.”

Last year, participates in the Phone-A-Thon made 2,200 calls to donors. This year they hope to surpass that goal.
